Goodwill Fire Company No.1 of Trexlertown was founded in 1916. We are one of
3 fire companies that protect Upper Macungie Township. Our neighboring fire stations are the Upper Macungie
Emergency Services Building, Station 56 and Fogelsville Volunteer Fire Company, Station 8.
Our township consists of approximately 26.35 square miles and more than 14,000 residents.
The Office of the State Fire Commissioner in Pennsylvania has put together series of certifications that
are acquired through hands on skill and written testing. This program is called the
Professional Certification Program.
We as a fire team also strive for excellence on a annual basis on the local level as well. Every year we
recognize our peers that have done an outstanding (above and beyond the call of duty) job during a
particularly difficult vehicle rescue situation. This award is called the
Hurst Green Cross Award.
Not leaving out the non-rescue firefighters, we also issue a
Firefighter of the Year award.
In addition to Upper Macungie Township, we are proud to provide service to our surrounding communities. We
currently operate out of one fire station with seven pieces of apparatus
2531, 2521, 2541,
2561, 2552, 2591 and
2501.
In addition to the fire and rescue related responses, we respond to every "unresponsive person" medical call
in our fire district. Our volunteers are trained to use AED (Automated External Defribrillator). We were the
first fire company in Lehigh County to
provide this service.
